Pretty In Pink- pink glasses that is

Katelynn will be in glasses full time now. We didn't even notice something was wrong we just took her in for our regular appt. before school starts. Thank goodness this year she wanted to cooperate because last year she wasn't having any of it.
We found out August 7th that her right eye is +2 and her right eye is +3.25. She will have a recheck in three months to see if her left eye is getting strong and if it hasn't improved enough she will have to wear a patch for a couple hours a day. She has done a great job wearing her glasses since she got them on August 13th. She didn't want to go to school the next day because she was afraid that kids would make fun of her but we assured her they wouldn''t as well as her teacher. I'm happy to report that no one made fun of her and she was happy when I picked her up.

I am currently 14 weeks and 5 days. I will be due October 6th but most likely going early. Joseph was a week early and Katelynn was two weeks early.
The heartbeat at my check ups has been:
6weeks 4 days~122 bpm
10 weeks 3 days~167 bpm
13 weeks 7 days~166 bpm

Family update

I haven't blogged in a while so I thought I would update what is new with our family.

My little sister is getting married in July 2009 to a wonderful man named Daniel.  Joseph and Katelynn will be the ring bearer/flower girl.  Katelynn is very excited about wearing a princess dress.

Joseph is now wearing glasses!  They totally change his look, they make my little boy look all grown up.  We went to Dr. Jason before Christmas and it was decided that Joseph would wear glasses when he could touch what he was doing, in other words he is far sighted.  He tried on 5-6 pairs and narrowed it down to two.  He tried the two on again and ended up with the ones he has now.  We all agreed these were the ones that looked the best!  

It's amazing what glasses have done for him.  He likes wearing them and his focus during school has dramatically changed.  He has advanced 3 books in reading since having them.  He was on I learn to read book D for more than 2-3 months and now has gone through a book a week and is on I can read book 3.  I'm just in awe of his reading.  

His teacher told me a funny story today about Joseph.  Joseph was taking his glasses off and his teacher told he looked handsome in them.  He immediately put them back on and gave a beaming smile.

   

I thought I would share a picture of Joseph's morning routine.  He surrounds himself with pillows over the heater vent.  He loves to do this to warm up before he can start his day.

Katelynn is now 4 and loves to cook.  She got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas and it was only fitting that she got an apron for when she cooks.  Everyday she wears it while we cook supper!  I would say her other favorite birthday gift was her Belle princess dress that Joseph got her.
